Cold Laser Therapy
Cold Laser Therapy is a non-invasive treatment that uses photochemical (not thermal) light therapy to stimulate cell growth. That stimulation can decrease inflammation, which alleviates pain, provides faster wound healing and tissue repair.
There are many conditions that Cold Laser Therapy can treat, including:
- Arthritis
- Back pain
- Trauma
- Muscle and ligament disorders
- And much more!
What To Expect
If you think Cold Laser Therapy might be a good option for your pet, let us know! Our team will discuss your pet’s treatment options and together with you, decide on the best course of action.
If that treatment is Cold Laser Therapy, we’ll book an appointment with you and one of our veterinarians will evaluate your pet and pinpoint the target area. Our technicians will then program your pets target area, weight, skin coat and type into our computer system, which will help outline our treatment plan.
Cold Laser Therapy treatments are performed by a technician and owners are able to be present during the procedure. Therapy requires multiple administrations to build from a therapeutic level to maintenance level. Initial treatments are a series of six spread throughout three weeks and then drop down to a maintenance which is generally a month apart. Treatment duration per appointment varies depending on condition, but can range from anywhere from 3 – 10 minutes.
Side Effects
There are few known side effects associated with Cold Laser Therapy. The procedure is a safe and drug-free alternative to help treat issues that have not previously responded to other forms of treatment. Cold Laser Therapy can be used in conjunction with other forms or treatment, including medications, therapy, and surgery.
